Nothing snappy to say as a lead in. Since my wife said I can leave all the recording equipment setup in the basement near the bar there was no setup time. Just give Kent our drink requests, sit down, and record. Doesn't get any better than that.

Should we name it show #14 or show #1?

New format. Shorter shows. Same old rambling. Just to get back into the swing of things we decided to run through some of the headlines from one of our local rags....the Chicago Sun Times.

I have to deeply apologize for not wearing headphones while recording and catching the fact that Steve breathes to heavy into the mic and spoke so damn load at times, it sounds like it's blowing out your speakers. You don't have to worry though, at tops, the decibal level only breaks 4 so it won't actually blow out the speakers. This will not happen again.

Just to let anyone and everyone that visits the site here, our RSS feed has changed. I've moved the feed to Feedburner cause I just wasn't happy with the stats reporting on our current feed manager. Not getting the info out of it that I wanted to see. Feedburner is supposed to be the best so we'll give this a shot. If the old manager starts working better I may switch it back but until then, if you want the show add this link to your aggregator:

Unlucky cast number 13. Let's just call this cast the "Steve was Incredibly Agitated Podcast". Something was up with Mr. Perryman. Must be the lack of sleep. At least he has Tivo and plenty of Shark Week recordings to keep him and baby Chunk bust late at night.

Topics for this one:

Steve - More ranting, swearing, and general venom towards the Vast Right Wing nutjobs. Mr Rove and Mr Novak are railed on here.
Kent - Really, really, really stupid Chicago Sun Times columnist and her thoughts on how the new Sex Offender law in Illinois might "hurt" some of those that commit sex offenses.
Kevin - Supreme Court Justice Suoter may lose his New Hampshire property based on the judgement that he voted for before the court let out for "summer break". Hate it when that happens.

We're back....again.

Legit this time though. We welcome a new addition to Steve's family - one Mr. Simon William, a.k.a Chunk. Hence the two weeks off from the last recording. Then I went on vacation for the 4th and haven't gotten off my ass to edit the show until this week. My wife is out of town and I was bored out of my skull (one can only play so many games of Halo 2 online) when I realized that I haven't posted the show. So here it is.

Kent - A rant on the recent Supreme Court rulings.
Kevin - Howard Dean or should we just call him"The Mouth"? Listen to me ramble at times and forget to back up my points. This is the longest segment of the show. You have been warned.
Steve - Halliburton in the news....again.

WE'RE BACK.

Well.....we really didn't go anywhere. Busy schedules kept us apart but we dug deep into our hearts and found the time to get together and pull off another cast. Enough small talk, here's what we covered:

Kevin - Newsweek Koran story. Yes it's dated but we haven't done a show in three flippin weeks.
Steve - Ties the Koran story and the unveiling of "Deep Throat" this past week and asks the question, "What does it take to bring down an administration?"
Kent - Voting rights at 16?
NEW EXCITING SEGMENT - Red State Blue State. Based on a comment by Steve two shows ago that all the goofy news originates from red states.

OK. This show has some deep sarcasm in it. We poke fun at a lot of crap here. I have to mention this here because Steve said to print it - "I think Florida is Stupid....Florida stinks". He also called Indianaians "mellonheads". If we offend anyone....oh well. Get used to it. I'm sure we've done it before and I know we'll do it again. At least we laugh about it, so should you.

That being said here is what we covered:

Creationism on trial again in the south.

Exciting random featured artists. Since I was too busy with work this week I forgot to secure a band so I decided to play some music from bands we've already featured. First song we played was Simply Everything by James Harrison. James does our opening music as you should all know by now. Click on the link to the right titled "Jayel Ayche" to visit James' website. Second song is How Do You by Jodie Manross. Yes, we played her last week but I couldn't stay away from this song. The vocals are something else on this one. I hate recording equipment. Having some recording issues recently and this cast highlights some of that. A lot of popping and clicking taken out. Pain in the ass to edit. Plus I am still having issues with getting everyone recorded at or near the same level. We tend to drift in volume from show to show. If anyone has some suggestions, email us.

As for the show.....we did two in one day last week. This was the second recording. Kevin didn't have a topic until he and Steve walked to a local hotdog joint to grab something to eat between casts. Brian stuck around for the second show and is heard here and there. We meandered a bit here and there. Topics were:

The state of Wisconsin's wheelchair pagent debacle
Mr. Tom Delay.......Republican tool
Cole Ford and his hatred of Sigfried and Roy
Some how Joan Rivers, Camilla Bowles, and the "New and Improved" Cookie Monster made it in at the end of the show.

This week we have an exciting guest host. Well......exciting if you like football. With the upcoming NFL draft we brought in the studio with us our buddy, and longtime college football guru, Brian Hamlin to go over some draft questions. We put this at the end of the show so anyone not interested in sports can at least listen to our regular stupidity. If you want to hear Over/Not Over though you'll need to move past the football crap and listen right near the end of the show. Last five minutes or so.

Recording wasn't the best on this one. Fixed it as best as I could.

Well, we had to do it. Day in and day out the predominate news story on every friggin TV station and in every paper is.....Terry Schiavo. This was Steve's topic all along. I was trying to avoid it but couldn't steer clear. Kent was wavering between this one and another but we decided to train wreck the show on one topic. Last time we'll do this. We all took a different angle:

Kent - The demonstrators
Kevin - Some of the moral implications and fun facts about Michael Schiavo

Wow. We went a touch long on this one. Stick with us. We're working on getting the time down but there was too much fun and decent discussion being had this show. Kenty is back for this one. Steve is in good form. All turned out well. There's even a shameless commercial for Liberated Syndication. Thanks to the four people that have signed onto the RSS feed. It amazes me that there are people that listen. Thanks also to the people who have downloaded the shows and taken the chance to listen to them.

Here it is. The first show. I was pleased with the recording as it was happening even though we seem to jump around a bit while talking. When I got it home, there were a few issues with the recording. Even though pop screens were in effect, my mic clipped on several occasions. I edited out as much of that as possible. Have to turn the gain on the mic down next time. Also, Steve sounds like he's in the toilet for the show. Have to get the mic closer to him next time. Also some random coughs and accidental brushing up against the mics. Oh well, it ain't radio.
